[0:40] <ukscone> evening all
[0:41] <ShiftPlusOne> hey
[0:42] <ukscone> witnessed a great car wreak on my way home from the mall
[0:42] <ukscone> guy came runnign out of a bar
[0:43] <ukscone> jumped in his van smashed the jag in front of him pushing it about 10 feet into another car
[0:43] <ukscone> then pulled out and totaled a cab
[0:43] <ukscone> then kept going and drove straight into a bar narrowly missing 109 people on the street and 30 people in the bar
[0:43] <ukscone> and then plowed into a telegraph pole
[0:43] <ShiftPlusOne> wow
[0:44] <ShiftPlusOne> I don't think I could do that if I tried
[0:44] <ukscone> took me 2 hours to get home as no buses and anythign were allowed down the street until the police had finised
[0:44] <ukscone> yeah he was doign about 50 in the space of 50 feet and 10 seconds
[0:45] <ukscone> the cab was almost cut in half and he wreaked the jag ok it was only an x type and not a decent jag but what a waste of a nice car
[0:45] <ShiftPlusOne> o_o
[0:47] <ukscone> i'd be in tears if it was a british racing green e-type but it was a white x type so it was only a shame not an major colamity

[1:02] <ShiftPlusOne> Heyyyy
[1:03] <iMatttt> Just thought Id join IRC :)
[1:03] <ShiftPlusOne> good thought
[1:03] <iMatttt> Yeah
[1:04] <iMatttt> Cant wait to get one of them :) Looking truely epic
[1:04] <ShiftPlusOne> just one?
[1:04] <iMatttt> At first
[1:05] <ShiftPlusOne> any purpose in mind or just 'cause they're awesome?
[1:05] <iMatttt> Mainly awesome
[1:06] <iMatttt> Secondly file server, irc bouncer, etc
[1:14] <ukscone> ugh just realized i'm going to be slightly brasic when the raspi is supposed to be released as all my domain names and host fees are due then. i'm going have to see if i can find the kids piggy bank
[1:15] <iMatttt> Ouch
[1:15] <iMatttt> And cruel
[1:16] <ukscone> cruel to steal from the kid or cruel that i will be brasic
[1:16] <ukscone> the kid owes me about $350,000 anyway because that's how much we spent to raise him to 22
[1:17] <ukscone> so he can breakout the piggy bank

[6:54] <ShiftPlusOne> ukscone, you there?
[6:57] <ShiftPlusOne> ukscone, I've found the correct post, but the http://linux.zipitwireless.com/ link to IZ2S (enchanced) is broken.
[7:00] <ShiftPlusOne> *EZ2S even
[7:42] <ahven> morning
[7:46] <ShiftPlusOne> 'tis
[8:02] <ahven> it is so weird being home at a monday, and at this hour
[8:03] <ShiftPlusOne> what's the occasion?
[8:03] <ahven> paid week off from work :)
[8:04] <ahven> didn't take everything out in the summer
[8:04] <ShiftPlusOne> ah nice
[8:04] <ShiftPlusOne> if I wasn't unemployedish, I'd understand >.>
[8:05] <ahven> freelancer?
[8:05] <ShiftPlusOne> student...ish
[8:05] <ahven> if ttyAMA0 is the console for the text-mode, what am I missing for a qemu prompt?
[8:05] <ShiftPlusOne> what?
[8:06] <ShiftPlusOne> qemu prompt to put in qemu commands?
[8:06] <ahven> in the SDL interface
[8:07] <ShiftPlusOne> in the SDL interface you just press alt+2 (or something like that), not sure about -nographic
[8:07] <ahven> the last line is cron starting, now there should be a login appearing
[8:07] <ShiftPlusOne> ah I thought you were talking about something else
[8:08] <ShiftPlusOne> you can't use SDL and ttyAMA0 at the same time
[8:08] <ahven> that I understood - with the ttyAMA0 only the boot logo appears in the SDL console
[8:09] <ShiftPlusOne> yup, so what's the question?
[8:10] <ahven> the rootfs boots, but there is no way to log in via the console :)
[8:11] <ShiftPlusOne> which distro and what command did you use to start it?
[8:11] <ahven> installed debian versatile inside qemu
[8:12] <ahven> with no graphics and ttyAMA0 it works ok
[8:12] <ShiftPlusOne> try with console=tty0
[8:12] <ShiftPlusOne> (in append options)
[8:16] <ahven> yep, that worked, nicely logged in with root
[8:17] <ShiftPlusOne> yay, I helped
[8:17] <ahven> if you want to help others, you could mention tty0 in your notes too :)
[8:18] <ahven> (once you get around to that)
[8:18] <ShiftPlusOne> noted

[15:08] <WASD_> I havnt figured out how you would control it though

[15:42] <ahven> you have GPIO headers, where you can always attach an arduino, if you feel more comfortable
[15:45] <jzu> use a joypad
[15:46] <ahven> also a possibility
[15:46] <jzu> or one of these numeric keyboards you attach to laptops
[15:47] <WASD_> yeah I was thinking about that
[15:47] <jzu> it depends on the desired form factor
[15:48] <jzu> I think there are small-ish joysticks, would be worth investigating
[15:48] <jzu> joysticks are easy to program

[21:07] <DaQatz> How would it be?
[21:07] <ahven> afaik there aren't any alpha board owners idleing around here
[21:07] <WASD_> using an unreleased alpha board
